The Houston Yates Lions have named Padriac McGinnis to be their new head football coach after placing former coach Michael Watkins on administrative leave late into the 2018 season. McGinnis has been head coach at Fort Bend Hightower since the 2012 season. In his seven seasons as Hurricanes coach, McGinnis compiled a 44-32 record with four playoff appearances including the 2013 season where his Hurricanes went three rounds deep. He now returns to his alma mater where the Lions have lost their last 11 games.
