Michael Waldie hired as new Gonzales Apaches head coach

The Gonzales Apaches have hired Michael Waldie as their new head football coach to replace Kodi Crane, who has taken the head coaching position at Caddo Mills. Waldie, who has most recently been the offiensive coordinator at Pearland, has head coaching experience at Luling, Woodville and Daingerfield.

Waldie has spent two years at each of his head coaching spots starting with Luling in 2010 and 2011, Woodville from 2014 to 2015 and Daingerfield from 2016 to 2017. His career record stands at 33-31 with three trips to the post-season.

Crane, who has been with Gonzales the past five seasons and Groesbeck for two seasons, leaves with an overall record of 37-43 and led the Apaches to the playoffs in all five seasons.
